Lagos Residents Protest; Call for Governor Ambode's Second Term

Some residents of Lagos state, particularly Christians, are currently staging a protest along the busing Ikorodu road, demanding that the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, is allowed to run for a second term in office like his predecessors.

Ambode is alleged to have fallen out of favor from his party leaders including APC National leader, Bola Tinubu, and may not fly the party’s flag at the governorship election next year if he fails to win the primaries

Kaduna government reinstates 24-hour curfew over killing of abducted monarch

Kaduna town. The latest crisis in Kaduna State, which started last Friday, October 19 in Kasuwa, Magani area of Kajuru Council, spreading to other parts of the state, including Kaduna metropolis, is not abating. It was rather escalated yesterday following the alleged killing of Agom Adara Maiwada Galadima, a chief and village head in the area, by his kidnappers. As a result of the rising violence, the state government announced the reinstatement of the 24-hour curfew earlier relaxed in some of the affected areas. The chief, who had been held captive since his abduction by unknown gunmen, was reportedly killed yesterday morning by his abductors and his body dropped around Kateri, after receiving a ransom. The Guardian learnt that his body had been deposited at the Saint Gerard Hospital in Sabo. The state government has vowed to fish out and punish those responsible for the killing of the monarch. It seems Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima's Egyptian “child bride” is all grown up now, as the Senator from Zamfara State was recently pictured with a foreign woman and biracial child. Recall that report of Senator Sani Yerima’s Egyptian “child bride” drew widespread outrage in 2009. Sources claimed that the bride’s parents received dowry of $100,000 before wedding took place in Abuja. It was however reported in 2013 that the Senator divorced the young girl so as to marry another whose age is also put at 14. The new child-bride was said to come from Egypt as well. This new photo however left us thinking if the alleged ‘child bride’ of Senator Yerima who introduced the strict enforcement of Islamic law, sharia along with 11 other northern states in 2000, is all grown now.
