See excerpts:
CAN WE MEET YOU?
- My name is Chimeyar Oti but everyone calls me Meyar.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND HOW MUSIC STARTED FOR YOU
- Well, I'm originally from Arochukwu in Abia State, Nigeria. I was born and raised in Port Harcourt. I moved to Lagos few years back and I've been here ever since.
Music for me started pretty early. As a child, I used to sing in my church choir. But my first ever experience as a professional entertainer was when I made it to the Nigerian Idol Show.
YOU WERE ON THE NIGERIAN IDOL SHOW? WOW, INTERESTING. WHAT YEAR WAS THAT?
- Lol, the last season. I think that was 2014 or 2015.
SO HOW MANY SONGS HAVE YOU RELEASED SO FAR?
- 3 original singles and a lot of covers. Too numerous to mention.
YOUR SINGLES INCLUDE?
- Only you / Only you refix, Dr do and 99 featuring Dremo.

TALKING ABOUT YOUR SONG "99", HOW DID YOU GET DREMO ON THE SONG?
- Well err. . .after recording the song, I felt it needed a "spice" and so did my management. I've been a fan of Dremo from the first time I discovered his music. So, we decided to reach out to him and I met him at an event prior to that time. So yeah we sent him the song, he liked it and the rest is history.
THAT SONG IS MAGICAL AND THE MESSAGE IT PASSES ACROSS. KUDOS ON THAT ONE
- Thank you
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE IN THE INDUSTRY?
- If I'm being honest, the high cost of publicity. It's super challenging raising all that money to fund projects.

HOW HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO DEAL WITH THIS CHALLENGE TO AN EXTENT?
- Well, I'm currently signed to a record label, so to a reasonable extent I'm doing well.
THAT ANSWERS MY NEXT QUESTION THEN. WHAT RECORD LABEL ARE YOU SIGNED TO?
- Kinging Records.
WHO HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION IN THE INDUSTRY?
- I'd say everyone succeeding in an industry as competitive as ours, inspires me.
HOW HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO MANAGE YOUR CAREER AND PERSONAL LIFE? HAS IT BEEN CHALLENGING?
- Well not really. I think so far I've been able to keep my personal life personal.
AND THE PRESSURE FROM YOUR FEMALE FANS?
- Lol, first of all I'd like to say I can't be pressured. I know how to ignore when necessary. In as much as I appreciate the people (male and female) that love my music, I know when to zone out when I feel any form of unnecessary pressure.
ASIDES MUSIC, WHAT DOES MEYAR DO?
- I secure the bag.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT THREE YEARS?
- Honestly, I'm sure you'd expect me to list a lot of things but I'd say I see myself growing, so yeah.
ANY MESSAGE FOR FAST RISING ARTISTS?
- Well, considering the fact that I'm also fast rising. . .I'd say just keep keeping on. It gets incredibly crazy sometimes, self doubt and all. But in all the madness, find a safe haven and stay there.
